Job summary

Great River Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department in West Burlington, IA. This part-time role (24 hours per week) supports licensed nurses with basic patient care across adult and geriatric populations.

You will perform ADLs, monitor patients, assist with transfers, and help ensure safe and efficient care. CNA certification and computer skills are required, with training provided for unit-specific duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of C.N.A. course (or complete within four months of hire date)
• Certified Nursing Assistant within 120 Days Required
• Health care experience within the last five years preferred

Responsibilities

• Answer call lights promptly and assist as needed.
• Perform skin assessments and report abnormal findings.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain clean patient rooms and change linens as appropriate.
• Collect and label specimens correctly (urine, stool, sputum).
• Transport patients between units and document in medical records.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes promptly.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Operate office and telemetry equipment as needed.
