Job summary

Great River Health in Iowa is seeking a CNA who provides basic patient care under a licensed nurse, caring for adults, geriatric, telemetry and other units. You will perform bedside tasks, assist with ADLs, monitor intake/output, and help with samples and transport in a high-quality, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities include responding to call lights, performing skin assessments, ensuring safe patient handling, and maintaining accurate documentation in the medical record.

Qualifications

• Completion of C.N.A. course (or complete within four months of hire date) required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant within 120 Days required.
• Health care experience within the last five years preferred.
• Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa DHS within 180 Days required.
• Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa DHS within 180 Days required.
• Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Answer patients’ call lights in a timely manner and fulfill requests.
• Perform skin assessment and report abnormal results to licensed nurse.
• Assist in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain clean patient rooms and change linens as appropriate.
• Collect and correctly label specimens (urine, feces, sputum).
• Deliver messages, documents, and specimens.
• Feed patients who are unable to feed themselves.
• Observe patients’ conditions and report changes to professional staff.
