Job summary

UNC REX Healthcare is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support the professional caregiver in delivering patient care on 4 West. Role includes transporting patients and equipment, setting up rooms, and assisting with unit desk tasks on a 36-hour work week.

Responsibilities cover clerical support, patient care assistance, vital signs, measurements, and basic wound care under RN supervision. Requires English fluency, NA I certification, and BLS; onboarding includes educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Nursing Assistant I certification required per licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine exams and procedures and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and promptly report significant changes to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review orders, transcribe and maintain medical records.
