Job summary

UNC Health Care is hiring a Nursing Assistant I to provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision in an oncology setting at Rex 5 East in Raleigh, NC. This full-time, onsite role supports a 36-hour work week and requires a valid Nursing Assistant I credential and BLS certification.

Applicants should have six months of nursing assistant experience preferred, fluent English, and basic computer skills to document patient data and communicate effectively with the care team.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant I certification (NC DHHS)
• BLS certification
• Six months nursing assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Provide patient care in psychiatric setting including reality orientation, behavior modification support, de-escalation, and milieu monitoring.
• Observe and document patient information, report changes to nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments per plan of care including vital signs, specimens, wound care, ROM, etc.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation).
• Perform indirect care duties: cleaning, restocking, transporting, assisting orientation of staff.
• Reinforce and document patient education materials.
