Job summary

UCI Health, a premier academic health system, is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality patient care. The role focuses on planning and delivering comprehensive nursing care for a defined patient group, including coordination, advocacy, and discharge planning in a dynamic hospital setting.

You will collaborate with clinicians to implement care plans, evaluate outcomes, and mentor nursing students and new staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year telemetry experience or completion of 6 month UC Irvine Medical Center Clinical Nurse I SSDU Program.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients.
• Perform professional nursing duties incorporating psychomotor and cognitive skills to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient throughout care.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and plan effectiveness; revise care plans or refer as needed.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit; function as PCC when requested by supervisor/manager.
