Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Telecom Systems Management team, directing standards, automation, governance, and compliance for critical telecom and network infrastructure. You will shape data integrity and audit readiness while partnering with engineering and operations to reduce risk and improve reliability.

The role requires strong leadership, telecom expertise, and experience with IP/MPLS, EMS/NMS tools, and analytics frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field with extensive telecom experience.
• Alternative: Associate degree with extensive telecom experience; or HS diploma with 16+ years telecom experience.
• Certifications in networking/telecom are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a high‑performing Telecom Systems Management team.
• Establish auditable standards and drive automation for compliance.
• Govern data integrity and act as the system of record owner.
• Oversee audit readiness and regulatory risk management including NERC CIP.
• Bridge Network Engineering, Telecom Engineering and Network Operations for secure, reliable operations.
