American Electric Power is seeking a Telecom Systems Manager to lead a new team responsible for standards, automation, compliance and governance of critical telecom and network infrastructure.

You will drive auditable standards, enforce data integrity, and partner across Network Engineering, Telecom Engineering and Network Operations to deliver secure, reliable operations and rapid incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of telecommunications experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience recognized.
• Certifications related to networks and governance are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Telecom Systems Management team from formation to a high‑performing organization.
• Establish auditable network standards and drive automation for compliant operations.
• Ensure data integrity and governance of telecom/network systems of record.
• Lead continuous compliance monitoring and manage NERC CIP obligations.
• Bridge Network Engineering, Telecom Engineering, and Network Operations for secure outcomes.
• Own the roadmap for monitoring tools and rapid incident response across telecom/network.
