Job summary

DLR Group's Telecommunications + Security Design team seeks an Electronic Security System Designer to develop telecom cabling infrastructure from schematic through construction administration for diverse building types, collaborating with in-house architects, engineers, and project teams in Dallas and other cities.

Responsibilities include creating telecom plans and specs, meeting client IT requirements, and coordinating with architecture, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines while

Qualifications

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification through BICSI.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the evaluation/design of telecommunications cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Building Construction documents.
• Experience with BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD workflows.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to design telecom plans with in-house architects and engineers.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and site visits
• Proficiency with Bluebeam or similar PDF markup tools

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives, goals and documentation policies.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine project requirements and goals.
• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom systems reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom design requirements with architecture, structure, MEP and other disciplines
