M.C. Dean in Virginia is seeking a Project Leader 1 (Telecommunications) to oversee complex telecom and integrated infrastructure projects, guiding design, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination for on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role demands 7+ years in telecom construction, CPM scheduling proficiency, and leadership of cross-functional teams on high-value programs including federal and higher-education sectors. A strong engineering background is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in construction specific to Telecommunications & Security Systems with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science, Information Technology, Construction Management, or Engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of related construction experience with a Master’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling Method and General Contractor Schedules.
• Extensive experience leading diverse teams & projects with construction budgets valued between $500K - $10M+ in Telecommunication Scopes.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience & established knowledge in complex markets on projects specific to Federal Aviation, & Government Airports, Higher-Education, Information Transit Systems.
• Required knowledge within construction low-voltage functions including self-perform contracting, field coordination efforts, maintenance of schedule & prioritization of deliverable deadlines tied to each specialty-trade simultaneously.
• Ability to utilize software including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Accubid, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office & Excel.

Responsabilités

• Leading the design and deployment of Integrated Infrastructure and telecommunications systems.
• Establishing and implementing procedures and controls to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Assisting the project Superintendent and Engineering in the preparation of project documentation requirements, project layout, and field office support.
• Managing Subcontractors related to M.C. Deans installation scope.
• Developing and maintaining resource-loaded project schedule in MS Project.
• Coordinating and running a project kick-off meeting (PKOM) and key monthly project (KPR) reviews.
• Forecasting cash flow and manpower needs for projects.
• Working with the project team to develop budgets with cost codes for allocating manpower to the schedule for foreman level tracking.
• Researching and compiling submittals, identifying/pricing change orders and preparing estimates for projects.
• Preparing a design/build project estimate based on design criteria.
• Meeting with customers to present proposals and cost estimates.
• Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
• Conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
• Coordinating the acquisition of all materials, monitoring tools and equipment requirements with the project team and the warehouse.
• Overall financial management of the project (s).
• Responsible to keep the profitability at and/above budget.
• Assuring a timely completion of a project including the completion of punch-list items, the submittal of accurate as-built drawings, operation, and maintenance manuals.
• Responsible for the completion of all training and other administrative requirements of the contract documents.
• Monitoring project budgets to ensure positive cash flow and to maintain profitability.
• Identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvement and incorporating best practices.
