Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. The Manager will coordinate with internal teams and contractors to develop complete bid packages for constructability and sequencing on site.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, identifying schedule and cost saving opportunities, engaging trade partners early, and aligning telecom/low voltage plans with

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and resolve design/constructability issues related to drawings and specs.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from existing designs or modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long-lead activities and align with design and schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages with design teams for contractor awards.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full WBS and scope understanding.
• Review Vendor Data Requirements submittals for constructability impacts.
