Job description

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Compensation: $20.00–$26.00 per hour, based on relevant construction or field-support experience, driving record, reliability, tool familiarity, and demonstrated work ethic.

Advanced Commercial Communications, LLC is seeking a dependable Telecom Field Support Laborer to join our growing team.

This entry-level, hands-on position supports field crews working on commercial technology, communications, and low-voltage infrastructure projects. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys active physical work, can work safely in changing jobsite conditions, takes direction well, and wants to build a long-term career in commercial low-voltage, structured cabling, fiber optics, networking, security, and related technology work.

Our technicians support the commercial technology systems businesses rely on every day, including structured cabling and fiber optics, network infrastructure, business Wi-Fi, security cameras, access control, VoIP phone systems, paging and sound masking, audiovisual systems, and related installation, service, upgrade, and troubleshooting work.

This is a strong opportunity for a motivated candidate to gain hands-on exposure to commercial job sites, tools, materials, safety practices, cable-installation methods, project workflow, and field operations. Strong performers may be considered for advancement into apprenticeship, installer, technician, or other more advanced field roles as skills and company needs develop.

Position overview

The Telecom Field Support Laborer assists ACC technicians and project leaders with material handling, tool and equipment organization, jobsite preparation, cable-pulling support, cleanup, staging, transportation, and other general field-support tasks.

This role is not intended to require prior technical low-voltage experience. However, the right candidate will be reliable, willing to learn, comfortable performing physical work, and capable of maintaining a professional presence around customers, general contractors, other trades, and active job sites.

Key responsibilities

Support field crews with material handling, tool organization, staging, loading, unloading, and jobsite preparation.

Assist with cable-pulling support, pathway preparation, cable handling, cleanup, and general installation assistance under the direction of licensed technicians and project leaders.

Organize, load, transport, protect, and stage tools, equipment, materials, and supplies for daily work and project needs.

Assist with receiving, moving, and properly storing cabling, equipment, hardware, ladders, lifts, and other jobsite materials.

Maintain clean, safe, organized, and professional work areas, vehicles, storage areas, and job sites.

Assist with basic jobsite tasks related to communications and low-voltage infrastructure projects.

Follow directions from lead installers, technicians, foremen, and project supervisors.

Help identify material shortages, damaged materials, unsafe conditions, and other issues that could affect project progress.

Work safely around customers, team members, general contractors, other trades, occupied facilities, and active construction sites.

Follow ACC safety procedures, jobsite rules, required personal protective equipment practices, and applicable company policies.

Work in a range of indoor and outdoor conditions, including commercial facilities, schools, offices, industrial spaces, attics, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, and construction sites.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support project delivery and company operations.

Required qualifications

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Ability to follow instructions, ask questions when clarification is needed, and work productively as part of a team.

Ability to work safely and professionally around customers, coworkers, general contractors, and active job sites.

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move equipment and materials up to 75 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, confined areas, and elevated work environments.

Comfortable working in dirty, dusty, noisy, warm, cold, or physically demanding jobsite conditions.

Preferred qualifications

Previous experience is helpful but not required. Strong consideration may be given to candidates with experience in:

Construction labor, field support, warehouse work, delivery, landscaping, facilities support, electrical support, or other active hands-on work.

Basic hand tools, power tools, ladders, material handling, and construction-site safety.
