Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Telecommunication Inspector for our Las Vegas, NV office, with consideration for Reno, NV. The role involves inspecting telecom systems for transmission and substation projects, including fiber, OPGW, and SCADA infrastructure.

Substations and remote locations are common, with up to full travel within Nevada. You will generate comprehensive reports, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and ensure adherence to standards, safety, and project specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 9 years of relevant post-education field inspection experience.
• Knowledge of telecom facilities and installations (MW sites, fiber, OPGW, ADSS, SCADA).
• Ability to travel up to 100% and work in substations and ROW environments.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on telecommunications systems for transmission and substation projects.
• Evaluate workmanship, material quality, installation practices, and progress for design compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, testing summaries, punch lists, and as-built verification.
• Lead telecommunications inspection activities on assigned projects when required.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to meet project objectives.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across inspections and fieldwork.
