Job summary
BNSF Railway is seeking a Telecommunications Electronic Technician II in Kansas City to install, repair, and maintain train communication systems. You will work in a safety-sensitive environment, with overtime and rotating shifts as per union agreements.
Travel within the region is required, and company-paid training includes travel to the BNSF Training Center. Required are 2+ years of electronics experience, an associate degree or vocational certificate in electronics, soldering skills, and
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years minimum of verifiable electronics experience or post-high school training.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs and work in safety-sensitive environments.
- Union environment with shift work and travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment and devices.
- Troubleshoot electronics to component level; document repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
- Configure devices and networks; perform advanced soldering on PCB and SMT components.
