Job summary

Midco in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Construction Technician to support our regional network build, upgrade, and maintenance. You will interpret maps, capture design data, and perform installations and repairs on aerial and underground networks.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain required certifications. You’ll work at heights, operate bucket trucks, and collaborate with utility partners to ensure safe, reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete Construction First Time Right (FTR) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; meet DOT requirements for state(s) of operation.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret network maps, plans, and design documentation.
• Capture and modify design data using GPS, smartphones, and laptops.
• Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground regional network.
• Coordinate with utility companies for house moves and relocations; ensure billing accuracy.
• Assist in site surveys and locate existing underground cables.
• Ground service drops and pre-wire new builds; splice coaxial cable.
