Job summary

Midco is seeking a Construction Technician to help maintain, expand, and upgrade the regional network. You will interpret maps, capture design data, and perform installations and repairs on aerial and underground networks.

Position leveling ranges from Construction Technician to Construction Technician III based on experience and certifications. This role requires safety awareness, valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• FTR certification within 60 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; must meet DOT requirements.
• Knowledge of NEC, OSHA regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and use network maps, plans and design documentation.
• Capture, store, and modify design data using GPS, smartphones, and laptops.
• Install, maintain, and repair the aerial and underground regional network.
• Coordinate with utility companies for house moves and cable relocations.
• Assist in site surveys.
• Locate existing underground cable.
• Install drops, taps, amplifiers and power supplies; splice coax.
• Ground service drops and pre-wire new builds.
• Use signal meters, read RF levels, voltage meters, and related test equipment.
• Obtain required certification and safely operate bucket trucks.
• Mentor new hires and provide guidance while demonstrating technical proficiency.
• Enforce safety rules and wear PPE.
• Operate company vehicle safely and maintain it.
• Model Midco’s mission and values.
• Maintain customer privacy per policies.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
