Job summary

Midco is seeking a Construction Technician to support the regional network by interpreting maps, capturing design data, and performing installs and repairs on aerial and underground networks in the Rapid City area. This role offers progression from Construction Technician to higher levels based on experience and certifications, with required FTR certifications and DOT/compliance.

Travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete Construction First Time Right (FTR) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; may need DOT medical card.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret maps, plans, and design docs for regional network.
• Capture, store, and modify design data using GPS, phones, and laptops.
• Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground network.
• Coordinate with utilities for relocations and ensure accurate billing.
• Assist in site surveys and locate underground cables.
• Ground service drops and pre-wire new builds.
• Use signal meters, read RF/voltage levels, and TD R as needed.
• Obtain required certifications and safely operate bucket trucks.
• Mentor new hires and uphold Midco’s safety program.
• Operate company vehicle safely and maintain it.
• Model Midco’s mission and values; uphold privacy guidelines.
• Maintain reliable attendance; perform other duties as assigned.
