Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Construction Manager to lead telecom construction activities in the field across multiple states. You will oversee subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, manage schedules, and coordinate with clients and inspectors to ensure contract compliance.

The ideal candidate has technical schooling and construction experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Completion of a technical school program with construction experience.
• Experience in the utility contracting industry with a strong understanding of field operations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary liaison between subcontractors, utilities, municipalities, clients, inspectors, unions, and internal stakeholders to support effective project execution.
• Coordinate and oversee daily field operations, including crew scheduling, workload management, site readiness, and construction activities.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality reviews to monitor progress and verify workmanship.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, permits, restoration, and traffic management requirements.
• Conduct daily field inspections of telecommunications infrastructure projects (FTTH, OSP, fiber, wireless).
• Identify and resolve field issues, deficiencies, and risks, driving corrective actions to completion.
• Support change requests, extra work, claims, and project performance discussions with field input.
• Validate as-built conditions and provide field clarification for QA/QC.
• Maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with municipal permits and environmental controls.
• Troubleshoot field issues and manage stakeholder concerns.
