Abrazo Community Health Network Hospital is seeking a capable switchboard operator to handle a high-volume front-desk line and direct calls with a courteous phone voice.

Responsibilities include answering PBX calls, paging during emergencies, updating patient contact information, and maintaining daily safety checks with security present.

Qualifications

• Must possess good interpersonal and phone etiquette.
• On-the-job training provided.

Job description

Saturday to Wednesday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM

To effectively handle communications and codes through the switchboard and to relay calls and messages to the proper person or department using a pleasant, clear phone voice and proper etiquette skills so that customers perceive excellent, competent service.

Responsibilities

• Operates the PBX answering incoming and in-house call requests.
• Responds to all emergency codes quickly and calmly with appropriate overhead paging.
• Contacts patients for an address update as indicated by Supervisor.
• Reviews updates in the communication book and initial memos.
• Inventories contents of safe at the beginning of each shift in the presence of a security guard.

Qualifications

• Special Skills: Must be able to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations and work without direct supervision. Must possess good interpersonal skills. Must exude excellent communication skills including proper phone etiquette.
• Experience:On the job training.
• Education:High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Preferred Requirements
  • Experience:Previous switchboard or telephone experience.
