Job summary

Schaumburg Township District Library invites a motivated teen to join as a part-time Teen Technology Mentor. This temporary role supports Teen Librarians by helping run technology and maker programs, including Pyrography Basics, 3D design and print, and soldering, with a patient, energetic approach.

The position is three hours weekly on Mondays (4:30–7:30 p.m.) from Oct 12, 2026 through Aug 2, 2027, paying $15.00–$16.31 per hour based on skills. Apply by Sept 18, 2026.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a high school junior/senior or college student
• Willing to work three hours per week (Mondays 4:30–7:30 p.m.)
• Proficient with computers, email, internet, and library databases

Responsibilities

• Assist Teen Librarians in developing and running engaging teen programs
• Conduct room setup and cleanup for each program
• Promote Library programming and opportunities to teens
• Represent the library professionally and follow staff policies
• Communicate effectively with patrons and staff across sites
