Job summary

The New York Public Library’s Teens 360º Initiative seeks a Teen Technology Mentor to provide teen-centered technology instruction at multiple branch locations, with a focus on Bronx sites. You will mentor and inspire young adult learners using creative tech tools such as 3D printers, cameras, video and music editing software, and design apps.

This temporary grant-funded role reports to the Associate Manager of Teen Technology & Design and requires a Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of related

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of related experience.
  • 2+ years teaching or mentoring teens or young adults.
  • Experience working with diverse youth in educational or community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate instructor-led, project-based technology programs for teen patrons.
  • Provide digital literacy and creative technology training (video, art, coding, design).
  • Mentor young adult patrons and foster inclusive learning environments.
  • Operate and troubleshoot creative technology hardware and software in Teen Centers (3D printers, cameras, Macs/iPads).
  • Collaborate with librarians and staff to enhance instructional delivery and program content.
