Job summary

The Schaumburg Township District Library is seeking a Teen Technology Mentor for evenings after school. This part-time, temporary role supports teen programming with maker activities and technology workshops.

The mentor assists Teen Librarians, helps with room setup, and promotes library opportunities for teens across locations. Position runs Oct 12, 2026 through August 2, 2027, with a schedule of Mondays 4:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Current high school junior, senior, or college student.
• Ability to use workplace technology including email, internet, intranet, and Library database systems.
• Comfort with maker equipment and position-specific technologies.
• Team-oriented and able to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teen Librarians in developing and running engaging teen programs.
• Conduct room setup and clean up for each program.
• Promote Library programming and opportunities for teens.
• Represent the library professionally and follow staff policies.
• Communicate effectively with patrons and staff at all site locations.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
• Treat patrons and staff with fairness and confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.
