Job summary

Police Athletic League Inc. seeks a Teen Supervisor to lead PAL School Teen Programming and supervise part‑time staff.

This onsite role supports mental health, SEL, and inclusion initiatives across PAL sites in the five boroughs, collaborating with NYPD, NYCPS, DYCD, and DOH. Qualifications include 2+ years in youth program management, an associate degree or credential in related fields, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Prefer an associate's in child development, education, physical education or recreation or related and two years of direct experience working with youth under 13.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated successful experience in program management and staff supervision with leadership.
  • Strong planning, implementation, or evaluation skills; open to learning mental health, SEL and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of DYCD Connect preferred; MS Office skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Foster social and emotional competencies and mental and physical well‑being in a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Manage PAL School Teen Programming; oversee mental health support and inclusion coordination.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and support part‑time Teen program staff.
  • Ensure program alignment with PAL policies, SACC regulations, and funding obligations.
  • Develop Youth Development culture; train and coach staff; monitor SEL and inclusion implementation.
  • Coordinate with Directors and HQ to grow creative programming; data collection and analysis.
  • Build partnerships with NYPD, NYCPS, DYCD, DOH and community partners; plan events.
