Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Part-Time Teen Advisor at the McBurney YMCA to support teen programs (Teen Center, Rowe Scholars, Leaders Club, Saturday Night Lights). You will supervise activities, develop lesson plans, and manage participant paperwork to meet program goals.

Under the Teen Coordinator, you will advertise and recruit participants, maintain documentation, and foster a diverse, inclusive environment while delivering SEL-based programming and attending meetings and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or college credits preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with pre-teens and teens (ages 13 and older).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse youth and adults.
• Must follow Mandated Reporter Training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants with close supervision of activities.
• Plan, create, and facilitate lesson plans for all programs.
• Manage administrative data entry in Youth Service.NET and coordinate participant paperwork.
• Develop positive relationships with participants and their families.
• Lead programming focusing on Social Emotional Learning and skill development.
• Adhere to Department of Health, YMCA, and funder standards and regulations.
