Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York's Vanderbilt YMCA in Manhattan is seeking a part-time Teen Advisor to support teen services and programs, including Teen Center, Rowe Scholars, Leaders Club, and Saturday Night Lights. Under the Teen Coordinator's supervision, you will engage teens, promote safety, and help deliver lessons and activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience with pre-teens and teens.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Access, Adobe PageMaker, and Photoshop preferred.
• Mandated Reporter Training required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants with close supervision.
• Plan, create, and facilitate lesson plans for all programs.
• Manage administrative data entry in Youth Service.NET and coordinate paperwork.
• Handle adolescent behavior with respect, maturity, compassion, and encouragement.
• Develop positive relationships with participants, their friends, and family members.
• Lead programming with a focus on Social Emotional Learning and skill development.
• Collaborate with staff and other departments; adhere to standards.
