Job summary

The Harlem YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, is seeking a Teen Advisor to support teen programs under the Teen Coordinator. The role will supervise Teen Center, Rowe Scholars, Leaders Club, and Saturday Night Lights, and assist with advertising, recruitment, documentation, and reporting of outcomes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least one year working with teens, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college credits preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with pre-teens/teens (ages 13+).
• Proficient with Word/Excel/PowerPoint; knowledge of Access, PageMaker, Photoshop helpful.
• Must complete Mandated Reporter Training within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all teen services and programs including Teen Center, Rowe Scholars, Leaders Club, and Saturday Night Lights.
• Advertise, recruit participants, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
• Plan, create, and facilitate lesson plans for programs.
• Manage data entry in Youth Service.NET and coordinate participant paperwork and surveys.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive environment and build positive relationships.
