Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking Teen Advisors to join the Long Island City YMCA. You will support teen programs, supervise activities, and promote safe, engaging experiences for youth ages 13 and up under the supervision of the Teen Coordinator.

Responsibilities include planning lesson plans, coordinating participant paperwork, conducting surveys, and meeting program outcome goals in alignment with City agencies and YMCA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college credits preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with teens (ages 13+).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Access, Adobe PageMaker, and Photoshop is helpful.
• Must complete Mandated Reporter Training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants with close supervision.
• Plan, create, and facilitate lesson plans for all programs.
• Manage administrative data entry in Youth Service.NET and related systems; coordinate paperwork and surveys.
• Develop positive relationships with teens and families; lead programs with SEL focus.
