Job summary

The Ridgewood YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, is seeking a Teen Coordinator to lead the management and implementation of all teen programs at the branch. Under the supervision of the Youth & Family Director, you will help with staff management, program development, outreach, and partnerships with local schools.

Programs run during the school year, after school hours, and on Saturday evenings, with supervision of teen travel including overnight trips.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A college degree in Education or Social Work is desired.
• Minimum of two years experience working with teens/youth and planning activities.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; comfortable with multicultural youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of teens in the program with close supervision.
• Manage administrative data entry in various systems, including Youth Service.NET and AS400, and coordinate participant paperwork.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement program registration, programming, workshops, and events with support from Teen Advisors.
• Directly facilitate teen programming when a Teen Advisor position is vacant.
• Focus programming on Social Emotional Learning and skill development.
• Assist in marketing and distribution of program information and compile statistics.
