Job summary

The West Side YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, seeks a Teen Coordinator to manage teen programs and supervise staff under the Youth & Family Director. Responsibilities include outreach, program development, and partnerships with local schools.

Programs run after school, evenings, and summer sessions. The role emphasizes safety, data management, and budgeting support, with a focus on SEL and youth development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Education or Social Work preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with teens/youth and planning activities.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of teens in the program with close supervision.
• Manage administrative data entry in systems and coordinate participant paperwork.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement program registration, programming, workshops, and events with part-time Teen Advisors.
• Directly facilitate teen programming when a Teen Advisor position is vacant.
• Lead programming with a focus on Social Emotional Learning and skill development.
• Assist in marketing and distributing program information and compiling statistics.
