A leading insurer is seeking an experienced technology leader to drive transformation of its core insurance platform, modernising a legacy environment and shaping the future technology landscape.

You will guide long‑term modernisation, mentor distributed teams, and own technical delivery across .NET, Java, or Python, with hybrid work south of Boston and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Experience leading projects, mentoring developers, or managing teams.
• Strong hands-on development background in .NET, Java, or Python.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to large-scale system transformation, migration, or modernisation programmes.
• Property & Casualty insurance experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in a long-term transformation programme focused on modernising core insurance technology.
• Help guide the evolution of legacy applications into a more flexible, cloud-enabled environment.
• Provide technical leadership and support across development teams, with expertise in .NET, Java, or Python.
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with both local and offshore engineering resources.
• Take ownership of technical delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned to business needs.
• Work closely with stakeholders across technology, data, infrastructure, and the wider business to drive strategic initiatives.
• Encourage the adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, and continuous improvement.
