Job summary

Oxford Hills School District seeks a Technology Support Specialist to assist in installing, maintaining, and supporting computer hardware and software across the district. You will help with network hardware, installations, upgrades, and provide technology-related curriculum support to staff and students.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma and has experience troubleshooting computers, understanding networking concepts, and good interpersonal skills to collaborate with school

Responsibilities

  • Supports the District's mission and goals.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Assists with other Central Office projects.
  • Helps develop, implement and maintain a K-12 plan of computer support.
  • Installs new computers, network hardware and relocates existing hardware.
  • Installs hardware and software upgrades on District computers.
  • Provides technology related curriculum support.
  • Provides in-service workshops to small groups of school personnel.
  • Provides computer hardware and software training to District personnel.
  • Assists school staff in the creation of school and teacher websites.
  • Assists in maintaining a computer inventory for the District.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs to District computers.
  • Assists in the account and other maintenance of District communications systems.
  • Assists in maintaining and operating the District networking system.
  • Keeps abreast of new technology and remains technically competent.
  • Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Superintendent, Technology Director, or designee.

TITLE: Technology Support Specialist

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in troubleshooting computers
  • Familiar with networking concepts, hardware and usage
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills

REPORTS TO: Technology Support Specialists report to the Technology Director or designee

Daily Physical Job Requirements

The following tasks are required for significant portions of a day or frequently over many days: twisting, stooping/bending, squatting/kneeling, walking and sitting.

Occasional Physical Job Requirements

The following tasks may be required for portions of a day or infrequently over many days: climbing, work above shoulder level, work below knee level, working in confined space, pushing, pulling, lifting (average load of 20 lbs./peak load of 50 lbs.)
