Job Title: District Technology Support Specialist
Department: Technology
Reports To: Director of Technology
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Summary

Provides district technology support as it relates to the teaching and learning environment across the district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building Level Management

Each District Technology Support Specialist will be assigned to a district school to support along with other district-level duties.

  • Create, resolve, elevate, and close Help Desk tickets using the Help Desk management system.
  • Document all troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference using Knowledge Base Solutions.
  • Provide technology support for staff and students.
  • Provide training to end users as related to technology.
  • Restore and migrate user data.
  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computers, peripherals, network connectivity, and printers as assigned.
  • Maintain an inventory of technology equipment assigned to the designated building.
  • Maintain mobile device management for the designated building.
  • Maintain users in Microsoft 365.
  • Maintain users and devices in Google Workspace.
  • Provide support for all district testing, including but not limited to IAR, MAP, ACCESS, and other assessments.
  • Provide, maintain, and troubleshoot network connectivity.
  • Oversee the management of building specific equipment, including:
    • Repair and maintenance
    • Distribution and removal
  • Monitor technology operations and report areas of need and concern
  • Provide support for audiovisual equipment, including projectors, document cameras, and sound systems.
  • Assist the Network Specialist with the District LAN and WAN.
  • Maintain ongoing organization and cleanliness in assigned computer areas.
  • Work extended and flexible hours as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
District Level Management

Each District Technology Support Specialist will be assigned one or more of the following district-level duties.

  • Manage the build and deployment of computer images (Windows and/or Mac).
  • Manage the build and deployment of mobile device profiles (iOS and/or ChromeOS).
  • System administrator responsibilities for the Comcast VoiceEdge phone system .
  • Provide technology support for the administration center.
  • Provide technology support for office staff.
  • Provide Assistive Technology support.
  • Provide support to assist other departments, including curriculum, student services, business, buildings and grounds, and communications.
  • Monitor, order, and replace of consumable supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree or two years related work experience.
  • Experience training and assisting adults with the use of technology preferred.
  • Experience with and ability to demonstrate an understanding of technology applications within an educational environment preferred.
MANAGEMENT SKILLS
  • Experience managing multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work using established criteria.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows, MacOS, iOS, and ChromeOS operating systems required.
  • Ability to learn, demonstrate proficiency in, and instruct others in computer.
  • Previous experience with web-based applications preferred.
  • Proficiency with equipment maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Proficiency with software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace , and Apple software applications.
  • General understanding of mobile device management systems.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification or comparable experience preferred .
ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from teachers, administrators, School Board members, students and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in all units of measure.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
OTHER SKILLS
  • Ability to p rioritize and schedule work effectively.
  • Ability to m eet schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to e stablish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to t ravel between district buildings as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary: $24.50/hour
