Reports to: Technology Support Supervisor

Location: IT Building

Salary Scales: Classified Pay Scale

Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: B0 ($25.03/hr)-B30- ($33.73/hr)

Description of Position: Configures and maintains end-user computing devices and classroom audio/visual equipment, and provides end-user technical support. The specialist's responsibilities may extend to include assisting with the installation and maintenance of servers, applications or networking equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Install and maintain computing devices and related peripherals


• Install and maintain classroom audio/visual equipment and related peripherals


• Perform basic network troubleshooting


• Perform proper record keeping

Essential Attributes

• Successful job-related experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting personal computers and related peripherals


• Working knowledge of computer networking concepts


• Excellent technical, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills


• Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision


• Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner


• Excellent oral and written communication skills


• Ability to work well in a team environment


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently


• Valid Mississippi driver's license


• Satisfactory criminal background check

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements
