Job summary

RSM is hiring a Technology Risk Consultant to support risk management, internal controls, and assurance for middle-market clients. You will combine accounting and IT knowledge to assess controls, advise leadership, and contribute to growing risk services.

Travel to client sites may be required; strong communication and project management skills are essential. CPA/CISA/CIA certification is preferred, not required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing at least a BA/BS degree from an accredited university, expected completion by December 2026 or June 2027.
• Travel to assigned client locations may be required. Must have access to reliable transportation to those locations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
• Must possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Understand clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees and company values.
• Assist clients on the design and optimization of controls utilizing knowledge of business processes, accounting and information technologies.
• Use problem solving and critical thinking to identify internal control deficiencies, evaluate risk implications, and advise clients.
• Assist in creating internal control documentation to support client engagements
• Engage with client leadership on strategies to anticipate emerging technology risks
• Examples of TRC projects include SOX/regulatory/compliance engagements for application and IT controls
• SOC reporting and other controls opinion services
• Information technology controls testing in support of financial statement audits
• Internal audits over ERP systems, IT security, and other IT systems
