Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Technology Intern for the Summer 2027 internship program in Fairfax, VA. Over 10-12 weeks, you will assist in analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology, ICT, and systems in buildings as part of a paid, mentored internship with real project work.

You will support project design, documentation, coordination, and job site observations while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client

Qualifications

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering/IT/CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
  • Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology, ICT, systems in buildings.
  • Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check, and assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services as required by the contract services agreement.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the employer.

IMEG is hiring a Technology Intern in Fairfax, VA. Over 10-12 weeks, you will assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology, ICT, systems in buildings as part of a paid, mentored internship with real project work.

You will also gain exposure to aviation-focused technology consulting.

What You’ll Bring
Required Education
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong interest in building design consulting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge
  • Developing proficiency in the use of BIM software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of Virginia Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.

Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
