IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in New York, NY. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for a variety of building types while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants on real project work.

You’ll support project documentation, cross-disciplinary coordination, job site observations, and quality-focused reviews while contributing to projects that must meet budget, client, and schedule expectations. You’ll join a team focused on education projects, especially public-school modernization work, while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You’ll Bring
Education And Experience
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Skills And Abilities
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 Pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

State of New York Pay Range: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
