Job summary

CLA is looking to hire a Controller with Technology Industry experience for our CAAS practice. As a Controller, you will help our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that addresses risk, deadlines, and workforce needs.

We emphasize strong GAAP knowledge, budgeting, financial statements, KPI monitoring, and leadership of accounting staff. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience; CPA preferred, in-office role with local travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• 7 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required.
• Accounting back-office experience is required.
• Relevant experience in the Technology industry is highly preferred; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) and understand financial/operational aspects of the technology industry.
• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budgeting, cash/credit management, and accounting.
• Coordinate and direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investments for all/part of an organization.
• Prepare financial information and statements, activity reports, forecasts, budgets, or regulatory reports.
• Evaluate needs for funds and investment of surpluses and make recommendations.
• Monitor KPIs and financial staff performance; implement actions as needed.
• Advise management on financial objectives, policies, and actions.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and constituents; assist in board presentations.
