Job summary

CLA is looking for a Controller with Technology Industry experience for our CAAS practice, based out of our Milwaukee, Madison, or Racine offices. You will help clients transform their business by improving GAAP compliance, internal controls, and financial planning.

The role requires 7 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Intacct. CPA preferred but not required. In-office role with local travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of relevant Controller experience.
• Accounting back-office experience required.
• Technology industry experience highly preferred; public accounting experience a plus.
• Proficient with accounting software: QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and related tools.
• Travel to local client sites; occasional non-local travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of GAAP and tech industry financials.
• Create and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
• Direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investments.
• Prepare financial information and statements for regulatory bodies.
• Forecast financial position and budgets, and produce related reports.
• Recommend funding and investment strategies for surpluses.
• Monitor KPI metrics and financial ratios.
• Evaluate and develop staff performance in accounting.
• Advise management on financial objectives and policies.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, and investors; prep board materials.
