Job summary

Ascension is seeking an obstetric surgical tech to support labor and delivery in Round Rock, TX. You will prepare sterile suites, assist with patient positioning, and pass instruments during deliveries and procedures.

The role requires CST credentials (NBSTSA or NCCT) and BLS within designated timelines, plus 2+ years of CST L&D experience is preferred. The position is night shift, part-time, at Ascension Williamson, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

• Assist the surgical and obstetric team with the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of expectant mothers.
• Pass surgical and delivery instruments, sponges, and supplies to the obstetrician or surgeon during deliveries and surgical interventions.
• Organize instruments, continuously reconcile counts (sponges, needles, and instruments), and facilitate rapid, safe procedures to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following:
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
