Job summary

UF Health in Florida seeks an Electrophysiology Lab Tech to circulate, scrub and record diagnostic and interventional procedures in the EP lab. The role requires assisting physicians, educating patients, and maintaining strict safety and documentation standards.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Respiratory Therapy with at least five years of EP technologist experience; ARRT certification preferred, with BLS and ACLS completed

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent programs required.
  • Minimum five years experience as an EP Technologist.
  • Licensing: BLS and ACLS within specified hire timelines; ARRT preferred.

  • Ensures patient safety and comfort with regards to table pads and back support.
  • Ensures all pertinent documentation is complete prior to start of procedure.

  • Stays abreast on equipment functions and precautions; provides support to maintain equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management within job scope

Overview

The Electrophysiology Lab Tech provides appropriate care in the EP lab. Circulates, scrubs and records diagnostic and
interventional procedures. Operates appropriate medical equipment and software. This position also interacts
professionally with customers and staff

Responsibilities

Assists physician as necessary to provide support during all procedures.
Educates patient regarding pending procedure and answers all questions and concerns to the patient's satisfaction.
Ensures patient safety and comfort with regards to table pads and back support in preparation for procedure.
Ensures all pertinent documentation is complete prior to start of procedure.
Utilizes appropriate sterile techniques to prevent contamination and transfer of infections.
Stays abreast on all equipment functions and associated precautions and hazards of all equipment used. Provides
necessary support to maintain proper equipment function.
Performs all other duties as assigned by management within job scope

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study:
Associates Degree Radiologic Technology Program
OR
Cardiovascular Technology Program
OR
Respiratory Therapy
Experience Requirements
Min Experience Type of Experience


In lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five(5) years experience as an EP Technologist
