Job summary

UF Health Flagler Hospital is seeking an Electrophysiology Lab Tech to join the cardiovascular services team in Saint Augustine, FL. This part-time role (32 hrs/week) supports diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a high-tech EP lab environment.

You will circulate, scrub, and record procedures, operate relevant medical equipment, and collaborate with electrophysiologists, nurses, and cardiovascular specialists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Respiratory Therapy.
• Minimum of five years experience as an EP Technologist.
• Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license.
• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license with ARRT.
• RCIS Certification.
• RCES Certification required within 12 months if no degree in applicable fields.
• Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Assists physician to provide support during all EP procedures.
• Educates patient regarding pending procedure and answers questions to patient’s satisfaction.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort with regards to table pads and back support before procedure.
• Ensures all pertinent documentation is complete prior to start of procedure.
• Uses sterile techniques to prevent contamination and infection.
• Keeps abreast of equipment functions and safety precautions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

The Electrophysiology Lab Tech provides appropriate care in the EP lab. Circulates, scrubs and records diagnostic and interventional procedures. Operates appropriate medical equipment and software. This position also interacts professionally with customers and staff.

Education / Training

• Associates Degree in either Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology Program, or Respiratory Therapy

Experience Requirements

• In lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five(5) years experience as an EP Technologist

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

• FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license
• FL Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification
• Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields Advanced
• Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferences:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification preferred.

Additional Information:

Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) OR Florida License as Radiology Technologist (RT)

BLS provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of hire.
ACLS provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 90 days of hire.
