Job summary

UF Health is looking for an Electrophysiology Lab Tech to provide care in the EP lab. You'll assist physicians, educate patients, and ensure safety and documentation. The ideal candidate has five years of experience as an EP Technologist and relevant degrees like Radiologic Technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an EP Technologist may substitute education requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Overview

The Electrophysiology Lab Tech provides appropriate care in the EP lab. Circulates, scrubs, and records diagnostic and interventional procedures. Operates medical equipment and software. Interacts professionally with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician as necessary to provide support during all procedures.
• Educates patient regarding pending procedure and answers all questions and concerns to the patient’s satisfaction.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort with regards to table pads and back support in preparation for procedure.
• Ensures all pertinent documentation is complete prior to start of procedure.
• Utilizes appropriate sterile techniques to prevent contamination and transfer of infections.
• Stays abreast on all equipment functions and associated precautions and hazards of all equipment used. Provides necessary support to maintain proper equipment function.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management within job scope.

Experience Requirements

In lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years experience as an EP Technologist.

Licensing Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification preferred.

Additional Information

• Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
