Job summary

Wind Creek Bethlehem is seeking a Technician - Slots to learn on the job and maintain slot machines on the casino floor and in the repair shop. You will work with senior technicians to repair malfunctions, perform model conversions, rebuild components, and keep machines clean and in proper working order, delivering excellent guest service and adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on slot machines on the casino floor and in the slot repair shop.
• Assist with repair of all slot machine malfunctions and execute model/denomination conversions.
• Attend in-house and vendor training for troubleshooting PC boards, progressive units, and test equipment.
• Circulate on the casino floor to repair appearance issues with slot machines and keep them clean.
• Develop troubleshooting skills for player tracking, progressive systems, and related equipment.
• Coordinate with Supervisors to ensure day-to-day operation of gaming equipment.
• Obtain and adhere to PGCB rules, regs, and Wind Creek internal controls.
• Provide superior customer service to guests and staff while following safety standards.

Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary responsibility of the Technician - Slots is to learn through on-the-job training and maintain slot machines to help minimize down time on the floor and to maximize floor space revenue. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Wind Creek Bethlehem LLC (“Wind Creek”) policies, practices, and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs preventative maintenance to slot machines on the casino floor and in the slot repair shop.
• Works with senior members of the Slot Technical Department to develop skills in:
  • Repairing all slot machine malfunctions.
  • Executing conversions of machine models and denomination.
  • Repairing and rebuilding all mechanical and electronic slot machine components.
• Attends in-house and vendor training for troubleshooting, repairing of PC boards, progressive units, and test equipment with higher tier level Technician - Slots or slot machine vendor.
• Circulate on the casino floor to repair any appearance problems with slot machines.
• Keep machines clean and in proper working order.
• Develop troubleshooting skills on the repair of player tracking system, progressive systems, and GTECH.
• Interacts with Supervisor - Slot Techs regarding day to day operation of all gaming related equipment.
• Follows and completes Technician I - Slots curriculum and all requirements to graduate to Technician II - Slots.
• Properly use equipment, tools or systems to complete assigned tasks and complies with company safety standards.
• Ensures divisional/departmental compliance with Wind Creek’s customer service standards.

• Develop a working knowledge of any PGCB rules, regulations and Internal Controls applicable to your position.
• Complete all paperwork in accordance with PGCB and approved Wind Creek standards.

• Read and understand Wind Creek’s Compulsive and Problem Gambling Plan with regards to how to conduct business in this position and specifically the regulations prohibiting service to minors and/or intoxicated persons.
• Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers in compliance with Wind Creek’s customer service standards.
• Adhere to and complies with both departmental and overall property policies and procedures.

Specific Position Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of computers and electronics preferred.
• Knowledge of gaming devices and related systems preferred.
• Ability to learn new technology through various media and training from new equipment vendors.
• Read, comprehend, and comply with all applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.
• Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner. Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
• Physical ability to access all areas of the property.
• Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, variations in weather.
• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine etc.
• Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to push and/or pull 200 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to qualify for and obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board License.
