Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Technician III to perform major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and drivetrains on construction equipment and trucks.

The role requires experience with Tier 4 engines, DPF/SCR/DEF/EGR aftertreatment, extensive troubleshooting, and strong maintenance skills. Competitive pay and weekly pay schedule, with overtime eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental experience.
• Advanced experience with hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel/gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and heavy equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform the scope of equipment repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains on equipment and trucks.
• Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and perform welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Inspect, service, and test equipment per manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service including checking fluid levels and lubrication.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, including warranty files.

Position Requirements

• Advanced understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop experience is required.
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and efficient time management techniques
• Successfully manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks
• Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipmentPerform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW)
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating
• Prepare/maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records
