Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in Buckeye, AZ is hiring a diesel mechanic to service and repair heavy construction equipment and rental fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and electronic systems, ensuring equipment meets manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a diesel mechanic with heavy equipment/rental background.
• Advanced repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel/gas engines.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and aftertreatment systems preferred.
• Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and heavy equipment repair experience.
• Must supply own essential tools for repairs.
• Inspect/test equipment to manufacturer specs; read schematics; welding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on gas/diesel engines and hydraulic/electrical drivetrains.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and diagnose issues on equipment.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure performance per specs.
• Service equipment routinely, check fluids, change oil, lubricate.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, including warranties.

Pay Range: Starting $29 - $40/HR Dependent upon Experience + Quarterly Branch Performance Bonus Incentive

Position Requirements

• You should have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with a background in heavy construction equipment or rental required.
• Advanced experience with major & minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel and gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing heavy equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Advanced understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and efficient time management techniques
• Successfully manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks
• Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating
• Prepare/maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records
