Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Technician III-Shop to service and repair diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. The role is based in our shop with some field work, and offers weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, owns tools worth $5,000+, and can diagnose and repair equipment to OEM standards. Construction equipment rental background is preferred, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years’ diesel mechanic experience, preferably in construction equipment rental.
• Strong troubleshooting of electrical and hydraulic systems and Tier 4 aftertreatment.
• Experience with major/minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.
• Own tools worth $5,000+.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Record maintenance and warranty activities accurately.

Typical Schedule

Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00PM (Overtime Eligible)

Pay Range

Dependent on Experience and discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus

Location

This role will be based in our shop in Pasadena, TX 77059 with the occasional need to maintenance or repair equipment in the field.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum 2+ years’ experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains is required.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $5,000+ in value.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating.
• Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
• Team-player, you work well supporting your team to achieve goals.
