The Acoustics team drives the acoustic design and overall sound quality of Client's product lines. We are a diverse team of acoustics and vibration experts, accomplished listeners, and creative problem solvers, motivated to share our love of audio with the world. We work daily with multifunctional teams on innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. We are looking for a Technician to help bring our products to the next level.
As a Technician on the Acoustics team, you will complete acoustic and vibration measurements using data acquisition systems, microphones, and other transducers following engineering-supplied testing instructions and lab procedures. You will prepare test systems for testing, including updating software versions; prepare test setups including fixtures and electronics including multimeters, scopes, and power supplies; rework small electronics, removing and swapping components using soldering, micro-fasteners, adhesives, etc.; be responsible for moving test materials between Client facilities in Cupertino; and operate and configure MacOS and iOS devices.
Most of our technicians have a high school or equivalent certificate with some additional college or technical training and 2+ years of acoustic testing of consumer electronics or IT equipment & have understanding of rework of basic electronics, but if you've followed a different path understanding data acquisition and testing for acoustics, we still want to hear from you.
A few useful but not required skills include: direct experience in testing and developing consumer electronics, particularly speaker and headphone playback or microphone recording, and a basic understanding of acoustic analysis, including spectrum and acoustic weighting.
