Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units.

This role is part of STERIS' main field division, focused on washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, steam generators, and related equipment. Come advance your career with us in this role!

Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, Electrical, etc., are often successful.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. To support and service our Customers in this territory, candidates must be based in Massachusetts.

What you'll do as an Equipment Service Technician II:
  1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
  2. Manage time effectively by prioritizing Customer and business needs independently to complete PMs, service calls, warranty calls, installations, upgrades, and other duties.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and utilize technology platforms for compliance and troubleshooting documentation.
  4. Provide Customers with information, pricing, and repair options. Build relationships with Sales to enhance customer experience and identify sales opportunities.
  5. Support various locations within the territory based on service agreements and customer needs.
Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
  1. High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in mechanical/technical roles.
  2. Successful completion of EST II training and promotion requirements.
  3. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet credentialing requirements.
  4. Customer and team engagement skills.
  5. Effective communication skills.
  6. Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency.
  7. Flexibility for schedule changes, including overnights and early/late hours.
  8. Ability to meet hospital and customer credentialing standards.

Pay range: $62,250 - $87,150, plus commissions. Rates depend on experience, education, and other factors.
