Technician – Generator PM Field

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a motivated and skilled Field Generator PM Technician to join our team.

Objective

This position is primarily responsible for evaluating and performing service and/or repair jobs on engines and generators.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs scheduled services on equipment (generators, diesel and/or gas engines, transfer switches, switch gear, etc.) in the field using proper tools and procedures.
• Ensures all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met.
• Completes all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follows contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in the work area.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No formal responsibility for supervising others.

Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years or more of mechanical experience with engines/generators.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred

• 5 years or more experience with engines/generators, preferably Caterpillar equipment.
• Chauffeur’s License or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
• Experience with transfer switches, switch gear, uninterrupted power source (UPS) equipment.
