Job summary

Walmart seeks a capable Facility Services Manager to lead the Exterior Services department in Bastrop, TX. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and cost control while directing third‑party providers and coaching staff to deliver high‑quality maintenance services.

You will oversee budgeting, capital projects, and seasonal operations, including landscaping, snow events, and equipment upkeep, contributing to a safe, efficient shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and have a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
• Two years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
• Ability to read and speak English; Spanish preferred.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Preferred: Experience in third-party management.
• Preferred: State/local licensing where required.

• Operate the Facility Services, Exterior Services department.


• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA and EPA regulations, safety policies, and environmental guidelines.


• Control costs through price comparisons and submit warranty claims, expense vouchers, summaries, and work orders.


• Lead third-party providers, foster professional development, coach staff, conduct performance evaluations, and direct quality assurance inspections.


• Troubleshoot and provide customer service to facility users; resolve customer problems and complaints.


• Maintain clean, safe, and healthy work environments.


• Evaluate replacement needs and implement sustainable facility upgrades and operating-cost improvements.


• Coordinate equipment standardization, source tools and equipment, and ensure repairs meet quality and safety requirements.


• Prepare budgets and cost estimates; approve and facilitate purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.


• Develop capital expenditure lists and scopes of work for landscaping, snow events, case cleaning, and shopping cart maintenance.


• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, de-icing, and clearing walkways and exterior areas.


• Maintain, inspect, operate, and arrange required maintenance for vehicles and heavy machinery.


• Perform equipment safety checks, identify hazards or malfunctions, and take corrective action or escalation issues.


• Complete assignments by prioritizing work, collaborating with managers, associates, customers, and business partners, and communicating progress.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.


• Valid state-issued driver’s license.


• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years.


• No more than two moving violations in the last three years when driving a commercial motor vehicle.


• No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years when operating a commercial motor vehicle.


• No preventable accidents under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years when operating a commercial motor vehicle.


• Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.


• Ability to read and speak English.


• Two years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.


• Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.


• Preferred: Experience in third-party management.


• Preferred: Intermediate functionality with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


• Preferred: Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.


• Preferred: State/local licensing where required.
