Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in mechanical repair of diesel engines.
  • Experience with heavy/medium-duty equipment repairs and diagnostics.

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Saginaw, Texas.

  • Hourly Pay: $31.81 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational/technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines, including:
    • Routine maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)
    • Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
  • Three or more years of relevant experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • All certifications required by location
  • Additional requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years experience with heavy/medium-duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
  • Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Note: Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles, obtain CDL within 6 months, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including:
    • Standard and preventive maintenance
    • Diagnostics and repairs using diagnostic tools
    • Mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
    • Component replacement as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues.
  • Use shop management systems and documentation.
  • Follow safety and compliance guidelines.
  • Mentor junior technicians.
  • Access and utilize maintenance documentation.
  • Support operations as needed.
  • Complete OEM diagnostic courses and training within specified timeframes.
